3.Biometric Security — Face Unlock vs. Fingerprint vs. PIN

Fingerprint:

  • Pros: Very fast, works in complete darkness, hard for someone to observe or copy (on modern sensors)

  • Cons: Fails with wet, dirty, or sweaty fingers; some screen-based sensors are slower than physical ones

Face Unlock / Facial Recognition:

  • Pros: Convenient (just look at phone), hands-free, works with gloves

  • Cons: Less secure on Android (often fooled by photos unless using dedicated infrared sensors like Apple's Face ID); can fail with masks, sunglasses, or poor lighting

PIN / Password:

  • Pros: Universal, works every time, no hardware dependency

  • Cons: Slower to enter, can be observed by shoulder-surfers, easy to forget if complex

Verdict: Use biometrics for daily convenience (fingerprint or secure face unlock) + a strong alphanumeric PIN as backup.
